In an emergency

Call 999 in the UAE. Police 999, ambulance 998, Civil Defence 997. OffroadPal is not an emergency service. It helps you share your location with people who can come and get you, and it does not replace calling for help.

Common questions

The app says my GPS is not updating. What do I do?

Check that location access is set to While Using or Always in iOS Settings, then close and reopen OffroadPal. GPS also takes longer to lock the first time you use it somewhere new, especially between tall dunes. If it still will not lock after a minute in open sky, email us and say which phone you are on.

The map is blank when I get out to the desert.

Download your area before you leave, while you still have signal. Once an area is downloaded, the map, your spots and your live position keep working with no signal at all. A blank map almost always means the area was never downloaded, or it was downloaded for somewhere else.

How do I delete my account and my data?

In the app: Profile, then Delete account. That removes your account and the data attached to it, and it cannot be undone. If you no longer have the app installed you do not need to reinstall it — email support@offroadpal.app from the address you signed up with, subject "Delete my account". The full list of what is deleted and what is kept is on the account deletion page.

How do I report a photo or another user?

Tap Report on any photo, or open the person’s profile and choose Report or Block. Reported photos are hidden automatically once two different people report them, and blocking works both ways. You can also email us if you would rather not do it in the app.

Which phones does OffroadPal work on?

Both, today, as test builds: the iPhone version installs through TestFlight, and the Android version through the Google Play test — the buttons above walk you through each. The App Store release follows.

Is OffroadPal free?

Yes. The map, beginner spots near you, your first offline area, the SOS location-sharing button, convoy mode and the skill ladder are all free. There is an optional Pro tier for drivers who want more, and you never have to pay to take your first desert drive.

Something in a spot guide is wrong.

Please tell us. Local knowledge is what keeps the guides accurate, and access to spots does change. Include the spot, what has changed, and how you know.

Before you drive

Most first-drive problems are answered before they happen. Start with how to air down and the desert checklist, or take the beginner course and learn it in your own car.

Where to drive next weekend.

Every time we publish a UAE spot guide you get it by email — the grade, the season, and what the drive asks of your car. Course dates go to this list before they go public.

By signing up you agree to receive the OffroadPal newsletter by email: new UAE spot guides, course dates and app news. That's the only use — unsubscribe anytime, instantly.

Off-roading carries real risk. OffroadPal helps you plan, navigate and share your location — it doesn't replace proper preparation, a capable vehicle, or driving within your limits. Always tell someone your plans, and respect local rules and protected areas.
